TN RTE Admission:- Beginning on April 20, parents in Tamil Nadu can fill out an online application for admission to private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The deadline for applications is May 18, according to the admission timetable provided by the directorate of private schools. They can do so by applying at rte.tnschools.gov.in. The information regarding the accepted and rejected applications shall be released on the website on May 21. A lottery will be held on May 23 if schools have received more applications than there are seats available. On May 24, the selection list will be made public. Students must sign up before May 29.

The Right to Education (RTE) Act has been put into effect by the Indian government in every state, including Tamil Nadu State. 25% of the places in private schools must be safeguarded by the RTE Act for pupils from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds. Therefore, starting in 2023, Tamil Nadu residents who are interested in applying to this program can do so.
According to the RTE Act, private schools must reserve 25 percent of their opening-grade (LKG and Class I) seats for students from economically and socially disadvantaged groups. This year, there are around 8,000 private schools with over 94,000 seats available for the RTE quota.

Objective Of TN RTE Admission
The main objective of TN RTE Admission is to provide free and compulsory education to all children. With the help of this scheme students belonging to economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups will be able to get free education till they attain the age of 14 years. Tamil Nadu RTE admission scheme will also increase the literacy rate of the state. Other than that employment will also be generated with the proper implementation of this scheme as more students will be able to get an education. Disabled children, wards of sanitary workers and HIV-infected will also be given preference through this scheme which will improve their standard of living.

- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Tamil Nadu
- All the children of parents falling under the economically weaker section, disadvantaged group, disadvantaged group special category can apply under this scheme
- Preference will be given to disabled children, wards of scavengers and HIV infected
- The annual income of the family must not exceed Rs 2 lakh
- For admission in LKG, the date of birth of the child must be between 31st July 2017 to 31st July 2018
- For admission in 1st standard, the date of birth of the child must be between 31st July 2015 to 31st July 2016
- Applicants from BC-others, MBC, ST, SC-others, SC-arunthathiyar, OC, DNC (Denotified communities), a social category not disclosed are eligible to apply
