Tamil Nadu Government provides an incredible opportunity to help the daughters of poor parents/orphan girls/fatherless daughters/inter caste couples/widow remarriage by providing an online platform.Those above mentioned girls can apply online for marriage and the assistance scheme is given below:

Tamil Nadu Government Marriage Assistance Schemes 2021 are being implemented by the State Government of India .There are total seven Marriage Assistance Schemes that are implemented to help the daughters of poor parents, orphan girls, fatherless daughters, widows who opt for remarriage and inter-caste married couples. These TN Govt Marriage Assistance schemes are basically designed to ensure that no parent suffers indebtedness due to their daughter’s marriage. In this article, we will discuss the complete details of the Tamilnadu Govt Marriage Assistance Schemes.

Marriage assistance scheme:

In most communities, it is a customary cultural requirement for a girl to wear “Thirumangalyam” that is made of gold during marriage.And the parents celebrate the marriage function according to their customs and cultural backgrounds. However, parents who are from economically weaker sections are not able to cope with the burden of expenses towards the marriage of their daughters. In order to help such parents and also to encourage them to educate their daughters till the right age, Marriage Assistance Schemes were introduced by the Government. Five Marriage Assistance Schemes are implemented to help the daughters of poor parents, orphan girls, widows who opt for remarriage, widows daughter’s marriage and inter-caste married couples.

Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme :

To provide assistance to the poor parents in getting their daughters married and to promote the educational status of poor girls.

Assistance provided :

Scheme-I :

Rs.25,000 Financial Assistance and 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II :

Rs.50,000 Financial Assistance from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Eligibility Criteria :

Scheme-I :

The bride should have studied 10 thStd (Passed or failed).

Bride must be 10th std passed even if she had studied through private or distance education.

Bride should have studied up to 5th std in the case of Scheduled Tribe.

Scheme-II :

Degree Holder girls from regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open University are eligible.

The diploma holders should have the completed diploma certificate from Institutions recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

General Criteria :

Annual Family Income should not exceed Rs . 72,000/-

Only a single girl from a family is eligible.

Bride shall be completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.There is no upper age limit.

Certificates to be enclosed with the application :

Copy of School Transfer Certificate.

Copy of X std Mark Sheet/Card -for scheme I.

Copy of Degree /Diploma certificate to claim assistance under the Scheme –II.

Income certificate of the applicant.

Marriage invitation card (Within 40 days prior to the date of marriage ).

(Only in exceptional circumstances the applications can be accepted one day prior to marriage).

Application Received :

Dr. Dharmambal Ammaiyar Ninaivu Widow Remarriage Assistance Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme :

To encourage The Widow Remarriage and To Rehabilitate the Widows.

Assistance provided :

Scheme I :

Rs.25,000 (Rs.15,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.10,000 as National Saving Certificate ) from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme II :

Rs.50,000 (Rs.30,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.20,000 as National Saving Certificate ) from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat) is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Eligibility Criteria :

Scheme-I :

Educational Qualification is not required.

Scheme-II :

Degree Holders from the regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open University are eligible.

Diploma holders should have qualified from Institutions recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

General :

E.V.R Maniammaiyar Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Daughters of Poor Widows

Objectives of the Scheme :

To help the poor widows who face financial hardship in conducting their daughters’ marriage.This will help them by providing assistance for the marriage of their daughters.

Assistance provided :

Scheme-I :

Rs.25,000 Financial Assistance from the date 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II:

Rs.50,000 Financial Assistance from the date 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Annai Theresa Ninaivu Marriage Assistance Scheme for Orphan Girls

Objectives of the Scheme :

To provide financial help for the orphan girls for their marriage.

Assistance provided :

Scheme-I :

Rs.25,000 Financial Assistance from the date 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat ) is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II :

Rs.50,000 Financial Assistance from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Eligibility Criteria :

Scheme-I :

Educational Qualification is not required.

Scheme-II :

Dr. Muthulakshmi Reddy Ninaivu Intercaste Marriage Assistance Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme :

To abolish caste and community feelings based on the brith and to wipe out discrimination by encouraging inter – caste marriage.

Assistance provided :

Scheme-I :

Rs.25,000 (Rs.15,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.10,000 as National Saving Certificate ) from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat )is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Scheme-II :

Rs.50,000 (Rs.30,000 Financial Assistance and Rs.20,000 as National Saving Certificate ) from the date of 23.05.2016 , 8 gm gold coin (22 carat) is provided for making thirumangalyam.

Eligibility Criteria :

The following two categories of inter-caste marriages can avail benefits:

Category I :

The assistance is provided to newly married couples of whom one spouse belongs to Scheduled caste/Scheduled tribe and the other is from a different community.

Category II :

The assistance is provided to a newly married couple of whom one spouse is from another community (forward community) and the other one is from the Backward Class /Most Backward Class Community.

Scheme I :

Education Qualification not Required.

Scheme II :

Degree Holders under the regular colleges, Distance Education / Government recognized Open University are eligible.

Diploma holders need to have qualified from Institutions that is recognized by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu.

General :

There is no income limit.

Bride shall be completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage. There is no upper age limit.

Application must be within two years from the date of marriage.

Certificates to be enclosed with the application :

Marriage Invitation or Marriage Registration Certificate.

Community Certificates of the bride and the bridegroom.

Age certificate of the bride.

Degree/ Diploma certificates to claim assistance under the scheme -II

Sathiyavani Muthu Ammaiyar Ninaivu Free Supply of Sewing Machine Scheme

Objectives of the Scheme :

Sewing Machines are supplied free of cost with a view inorder to increase the self employment potential for rehabilitation of destitute women/widows, deserted wives, differently disabled men and women, Socially affected women and also women from economically weaker sections.

Assistance provided :

Sewing machine and accessories required.

To whom the benefit is to be given:

Destitute women/widows, deserted wives, differently disabled men and women,socially affected women and also women from economically weaker sections.

The applicant should have knowledge regarding tailoring.

Applicants should have completed 20 years of age at the time of application and should not exceed 40years of age.

Certificates to be enclosed with the application :

Destitute /Deserted/Widow /Differently abled Certificate shall be enclosed.

Family Income Certificate must be below Rs. 72000/-

6 months of tailoring course completed Certificate

Caste Certificate of the applicant.

Photo of the applicant.

Aadhar number of the applicant.

Girl Child Protection Scheme

Promoting education of girl children, eradicating the female infanticide, discouraging the preference for male child,promoting the small family norm and promoting the welfare of girl children in poor families and also to raise the status of girl children.

Assistance Provided :

Scheme I:

Rs 50,000/- Fixed Deposit in the name of girl child for the family which has only one girl child.( Interest amount shall be given annually to the girl child from the sixth year of the deposit )

Scheme II:

Rs.25000/- Fixed Deposit for each girl child and the condition is that the family has two girl children only.( Interest amount will be given annually to the girl child from the sixth year of the deposit )

Eligibility Criteria :

Either among the two parents should have undergone sterilization within 35 years of age.

Family should have only one or two female children.

There must be no male child in their family and even even in the future no male child shall be adopted by the family.

The parents/grand parents should be a domicile of Tamil Nadu for a period of 10 years at the time of submitting application.

Scheme I :

Application needs to be made before the girl child completes 3 Years of age.

Scheme II :

Application must be made before the second girl child completes 3 Years of age.

Annual Family Income should not exceedRs . 72,000/-

Certificates to be enclosed with the application :

Birth Certificate of the Girl Child (Corporation /Taluk office /Municipality office)

Age proof of parents

Sterilization certificate

Annual Family Income Certificate should not exceed Rs . 72,000/-

Certificate of no male child

Nativity certificate.
