11th Dec Update:- CM Revanth Reddy directed officials to release rabi Season Payment
Revanth Reddy, the chief minister, gave officials instructions to deposit Rs 5,000 per acre of Rythu Bandhu aid for the rabi season into each landowner farmer’s bank account starting on Monday. Revanth Reddy called a high-level meeting on Monday in the Secretariat, when a decision was made. Since farmers need help quickly and the situation is urgent, the Congress government has decided to implement Rythu Bandhu for this rabi season. This is because there isn’t enough time to finalise guidelines to implement Rythu Bharosa, which covers more beneficiaries including tenant farmers and agriculture labourers, as the Congress promised during the election campaign. As opposed to Rs 5,000 under Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bharosa additionally pledged to pay Rs 7,500 per acre per season.
Under Rythu Bandhu, more than 70 lakh farmers would begin receiving approximately Rs 7,500 crore on Monday in stages. The Election Commission of India delayed the payment at the eleventh hour after it was first announced in November. As promised by Congress, the Chief Minister has instructed authorities to devise a plan of action for executing the Rs 2 lakh crop debt waiver programme for farmers.
The most costly of the six guarantees offered by the Congress was Rythu Bharosa, which guaranteed farmers and tenant farmers an annual income of Rs 15,000 per acre and agricultural labourers an annual income of Rs 12,000 per acre, divided equally between the rabi and kharif seasons. The Congress also included a pledge in its manifesto to waive crop loans for farmers up to Rs 2 lakh, even though it was not included in the Six Guarantees. The Congress is anticipated to provide coverage for a greater number of tenant farmers and agricultural labourers, whereas the BRS only provided aid to 70 lakh farmers who were registered on the Dharani portal.
