Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme:- In order to empower Dalits, both the Central and state government implements various kinds of schemes. Through these schemes, various kinds of financial incentives are provided to the Dalits. Recently the Government of Telangana has also launched the Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme. Through this scheme, financial incentives will be provided to the Dalits in order to provide them self employment. The Government of Telangana has launched Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme. It is basically a welfare scheme for empowering Dalit families and enabling entrepreneurship among them. Through this scene, the government is going to transfer an amount of Rs 10 lakh per family. This scheme is going to be the biggest cash transfer scheme in the country. A meeting was held by the Chief Minister with the elected Dalit representatives and leaders in order to discuss this scheme. During this meeting, it was decided that 11900 families, 100 each from 119 assembly constituencies in the state, will be selected under the scheme. The families will get cash assistance of Rs 10 lakh without any bank guarantee in order to start their business.

To implement this scheme the government has allocated a budget of Rs 1200 crore. This scheme will be implemented on a pilot basis in huzurabad assembly constituency. Based on the experience of implementation of this scheme in huzurabad this scheme will be rolled out across the state in a phased manner.

Objective Of Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme

The main objective of the Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme is to empower the Dalits of the state. Through this scheme, financial assistance will be provided to the Dalits for setting up their business. This scheme is going to improve the standard of living of the Dalits. Other than that with the implementation of this scheme Dalits will become self-dependent. This scheme is also going to reduce the unemployment ratio of the state. Through this scheme, Dalits will be able to set up their business enterprise which will help in their overall development. This scheme will be implemented in all the assembly constituencies of the state

  • In order to promote Dalit entrepreneurship the government will also start a system of reservation in sectors where the government issues license.
  • The government is going to provide reservations for Dalits in issuing licenses for wine shops, medical shops, fertilizer shops, rice Mills, etc.
  • Apart from monetary assistance, the government has also planned to create a Corpus which will be called dalit security fund permanently to support the beneficiary in the event of any adversities.
  • This fund will be managed by the district collector.
  • The beneficiary is required to deposit a minimum amount towards this fund.
  • The government is also going to issue an identity card with an electronic chip which will help the government in monitoring the progress of the scheme.

Procedure To Apply Under Telangana Dalit Bandhu Scheme

No separate application process online or offline has been started by the government under the scheme. A list of selected beneficiaries will be prepared by the District Monitoring Committee headed by District Collector with the help of data collected by SERP (Society for elimination of rural poverty) and MEPMA (Mission for elimination of poverty in municipal areas) and Gram Sabha/ Municipal Sabha for prioritizing beneficiaries.
